Dr. Jaclyn Dam-Laute completed her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1990 and graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, USA in 1994 with her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. She graduated with special Achievement Awards from the American Academy of Oral Pathology and the Academy of Operative Dentistry.
From 1994-1996 she completed her certification in Advanced General and Hospital Dentistry from the University of Texas Health Science Center- Dental Branch, USA. She managed full mouth rehabilitation and treated medically compromised patients. She also completed a one-year extended program in implant dentistry (Branemark) and achieved licensing to practice dental sedation.
She gained over 4 years of clinical experience and knowledge in cosmetic and implant dentistry before returning to America and was selected from among 250 applicants into Nova Southeastern University’s Endodontics Post-Graduate Program (a recognized specialty of controlling dental infection and maintaining the natural tooth through root canal therapy and associated treatments or surgeries). She earned her specialty certification in 2002 and is a board-eligible member of the American Board of Endodontics.
With a license to practice and work in Beijing, China, Dr Jaclyn was a pioneering member of the dental department at Beijing United Family Hospital (BJU). From 2005-2008 she was appointed as BJU Chairman for the Department of Dentistry and helped it achieve accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI). She also served on the hospital’s Medical Advisory Board. In 2006, she was selected as "BJU Star of 2006" based on patients’ review and satisfaction.
Recently in 2009, the American Biographical Institute nominated her for the "2009 Woman of the Year in Dental Health" award. She was also selected to be in the 10th edition of the International Who’s Who of Professional and Business Women publication. In this same year, the Consumer’s Research Council of America selected her as one of "America’s Top Dentists" based on her years of practice and experience.
Dr. Dam-Laute also has a private practice in China and is the only practicing Western-trained endodontist in Beijing. Her specialty care includes one-visit root canal treatments; microsurgical root canal retreatments and surgeries; and management of dental pain, trauma and emergencies. Her scope of practice also extends into cosmetic dental makeovers using porcelain restorations, tooth-colored fillings, orthodontics and in-office bleaching. Missing teeth are restored with implants and bone regeneration techniques. Full mouth rehabilitation is performed to create a healthy, functional dentition with a natural, beautiful smile.
